ALASKAN SHROOMS.

Alaskan Shrooms'

I almost feel guilty when plucking the occasional fungi from earth's soil or the bark of a fallen tree.

But,
as rivers n' streams rush over the roots of weeping cedar,
my mouth waters, leading me to forage often.

However, pick your poison.

Indigenous tribes of Alaska have cultivated the use of mushrooms for centuries.

Whether they are carving animals out of Fomitopsis to set at the head stones of graves for protection of Shamans; or burning Phellinus Igniarius aka "Punk Ash" in tobacco pipes for a more sought after buzz.

I personally prefer heating up a kettle of water & pouring it over wild Alaskan Chaga, when shitty gas station coffee fails to do the trick.

whether you choose to alter your state of consciousness with "magic mushrooms" or pair your morels with a red meat such as mignon.

Remember...

Mushrooms are not just delicate decorations to wounded trunks & Dusky Fork moss. They are tiny tribes of the forest, healing, finding, and taking the lives of whoever decides to collect them.
